Patient Empowerment Network (PEN) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN# 27-1295230). We are dedicated to improving cancer patients’ health equity and outcomes.
Your support is urgently needed to ensure cancer patients and care partners can receive access to the latest life-changing education resources.
A cancer diagnosis often makes patients feel overwhelmed, which can diminish health outcomes. Patient Empowerment Network is a place where patients and care partners can go for help. Our free programs educate, empower, and ACTIVATE members of the cancer community to ask the right questions, at the right time, so they can become co-decision makers with their doctors—and ultimately—achieve healthier, longer lives thanks to better treatment outcomes.
Through our website, social media channels, workshops, and webinars, we provide free and easy access to medical experts, industry leaders, peers, patients, advocates, and curated resources addressing a broad range of topics. These include:
• Virtual meet-ups for patients and panel discussions on specific cancer-type issues, cancer conference coverage, videos from live town meetings for patients at major cancer centers such as MD Anderson Cancer Center, Robert Lurie Cancer Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and others.
• Toolkits with doctor visit check-lists, tips, links to organizations, cancer-specific videos, and additional resources to empower patients.
• An extensive blog with timely contributions from patient advocates, healthcare providers, patient bloggers, caregivers, and other respected voices in the cancer community.
The path to empowerment begins at https://powerfulpatients.org/.
These free programs depend entirely on donations.
